... what with famous adoptions and all. (And ok, there's a phrase I'll never utter again.)

There has always been a plan for dog #2, but the rule was that Molly and I had to go through obedience classes first. Tomorrow night is the last night of those.

When I took Molly in to the vet last time, I mentioned this, and she told me about a stray dog she was rescuing from out in Prairieville, where she and her husband are restoring a house, and said "call, when you're about done, and I'll have more to tell you about her." Today I called, and tomorrow we have a play date to see if she and Molly get along! If it all works out, then she'll come home with me for a trial run.

Here's pictures of her - the folks out in Prairieville have been calling her "LB", for Left Behind. (Clearly, she'll need a new name, if she comes home - any thoughts?).

ETA: We have TWO votes for Stella, and one vote for "some name that sounds nothing like Molly." Rationale, and I quote: "Their names should be different sounding if you ever expect them to know the difference - as we've learned with Indy and Annie, who, we're pretty sure, can't tell the difference."

What I know about her: she LOVES other dogs, and is about as un-alpha as they come - she is completely happy to take her lead from my vet's pet beagle as to what's going on and is very happy playing in the yard at the vet's office with whatever pack of dogs happens to be around. She's not food-aggressive, and very gentle about taking food from your hand. She's heartworm negative, and about 45 pounds (a little bigger than Molly, but not much). She's only had one accident in the house, the whole three weeks she's been at the kennel/at my vet's house, so I think the phrase is "mostly housebroken."
