Fire drills and sidewalks

Today has been low key, with the exception of a fire drill that I didn’t initially realize was a fire drill (because, apparently, my brain doesn’t think that loud wailing sirens translate across language barriers), though at least one of the two possible gym options has been discovered and tested, so I expect to hurt tomorrow. It felt good to go, though. Certainly it feels better than falling down walking on cobblestone streets, which is my other major accompishment to date. I have not yet reached the point where I fall down standing still, but I have managed some SPECTACULAR tumbles, thus ensuring that Marla's emergency response skills are still up-to-date. What else? Hrm. We had a fire drill. And Marla and I tried to go to Palma Mallorca, but the fates were against us. It’s a three-day weekend coming up, hence the momentary thought of a wild two day trip. I’m still batting around the idea of going to Amsterdam and enjoying a leisurely few days. Part of me would very much like to just hold still, as it’s been a little busy on the travel scene lately. We shall see. It’s only been four days. Which is slightly difficult to believe – coming back to the apartment is beginning to feel sort of normal.
