Okay. Setting aside issues with this week's Criminal Minds, it did make some very interesting parallels.

The killers created for themselves a very closed, self-selected, broken society that outsiders simply cannot understand.  The BAU, as Jordan points out, is not all that different. [livejournal.com profile] smittywing  rightly points out that Morgan and Gideon's conversation about calling things by certain names further serves to highlight that fact - stretching the metaphor, it's not hugely different than the killers renaming the girls they kidnap so that they fit into their world.

I'm not exactly sorry to see Jordan go - not because I disliked her, but because at some point the point she was there to make was going to be made sufficiently as to beat me about the head with it.  Also, I have a deep and abiding love for JJ, and oh, Hotch, looking so wounded when Jordan warned him about not appreciating JJ sufficiently. But I digress.  I'm not sorry to see Jordan go, but this episode did a nice job of wrapping up that arc and reinforcing the point without being blatant.

I do love it when TV is smart.

Also, I need Criminal Minds icons....
